Pt Sridhar Misra chess tournament from Oct 24 in UP

Lucknow, Oct 20 (UNI) The first Pt Sridhar Misra Shradhasmaran Open State Chess Tournament will be organized from October 24 to 28 at K D Singh Babu Stadium here.

Minister for Health and Health Education Mr Anant Kumar Misra will declare the meet open on October 24.

Apart from senior and women groups, under 12, 14, 16 and 19 years of age groups players will be awarded cash prizes separately, organisation secretary Naveen K Wal informed today.

The cash prizes for the unrated players have also been reserved for the first time in the state.

Top rank players like Vivek Shukla (Kanpur), Brijesh Agarwal (Agra), former national champion Nasir Ali (Kanpur) with others have confirmed their participation.
