PSPB rule roost in National Table Tennis

Ajmer, Mar 10 (UNI) Star-studded Pertoleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) stamped their authority yet again as they defeated Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) in both the men's and the women's section to win the National Table Tennis championship for the upmteenth time.

In the men's section, national champion Subhajit Saha, CWG gold medallist Sharath Kamal and Soumyadeep Roy all won their matches as PSPB trounced the Railway team 3-0 and lift the men's title for the 14th time and 8th time in a row.

However, the going was not that easy for the oilwomen and they in fact overturned a two-match deficit to win the honours 3-2. After Shamini K and Mouma Das lost their matches Poulomi Ghatak spearheaded the fightback. Das and Shamini won the revrse singles as PSPB won the title for the 17th time overall and ninth time in consecution.

Results: Women's Team Championships (Final) PSPB bt RSPB (3-2) SHAMINI K lost to SOUMI Mondal 1-3, MOUMA Das lost to ANINDITA Chakraborty 0-3, POULOMI Ghatak bt SAYANTIKA Kundu 3-0, MOUMA Das bt SOUMI Mondal 3-0, SHAMINI K beat ANINDITA Chakraborty 3-2.

Men's Team Championships (Final) PSPB bt RSPB (3-0) SUBHAJIT Saha beat SOURAV Chakraborty 3-0, SHARATH Kamal A bt ANIRBAN Nandi 3-1, SOUMYADEEP Roy beat AMAL Raj A 3-2.
