President congratulates world champion Anand

New Delhi, Oct 30 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today congratulated Viswanathan Anand on winning the World Chess Championship in Bonn, Germany, last night.

Anand kept the world title with a 24-move draw in the 11th and penultimate game of the 12-game Championship final.

In her congratulatory message, President said she is ''delighted to learn about the victory and that Anand's consistent performance throughout his long and successful career is testimony to his hard work and dedication towards the challenging game of chess.'' She also wished him more sucess in the future.
