Prasar Bharti to reply on mode of telecasting India-England series
New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) The Delhi High court today directed national broadcaster Prasar Bharti to reply within seven days as to what will be its mode of telecast during the India-England Test match series.
A bench comprising Chief justice M K Sharma and justice Sanjiv Khanna directed Prasar Bharti to file its reply within a week in the court as to whether they will show live telecast of the matches or not.
An organisation, Akil Bharti Grahak Panchayat Sangh had issued a legal notice to Prasar Bharti seeking clarification on their broadcast procedure. Their concern is whether the national broadcaster will follow the provisions of section 3 of the Signal Broadcast Sharing Act even though the Act is at an oridinary stage.
The organisation has sought Court's intervention for the reply from Prasar Bharti. Reacting to the the organisation's petition the Court directed Prasar Bharti to reply within a week.
