Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee files nomination

Kolkata, Jan 17 (UNI) Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee today filed his nomination for the post of CAB president, vacated by Jagmohan Dalmiya.

Police Athletic Club Secretary Pranab Kumar Ghosh filed the nomination on behalf of the Police Commissioner.

Talking to UNI, he said, ''We are confident that Mr Mukherjee would win and would be equally successful as the CAB president as he is as the Police Commissioner.'' Asked about Sports Minister Subhas Chakravarty's contesting the poll, he said, ''There is nothing on paper till now. I will not comment on it. We can only talk about those things which have happened and are happening.'' Meanwhile, the breakway faction of the Dalmiya group is supposed to have a closed door meeting with Mr Mukherjee tonight to settle certain post-poll equation.
