World Athletics: 4X100m relay 'Bolt'ed, Carl Lewis's gold record edged
Moscow, Aug 19: Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt sprinted to the top, winning the 4X100 m relay race at the world championships. Winning gold in 100 m and 200 m races too, he joined the Carl Lewis's club by winning 8 medals in the World Athletic Championships.
With the relay win, he took his Moscow Athletics Championships gold medal tally to 3 on Sunday. United States claimed silver and Britain won bronze in the relay race.
Leading his team to th etop, Bolt also thanked the team effort by 100m bronze medalist Nesta Carter, Kemar Bailey-Cole and Nickel Ashmeade as they won the event in a record 37.36sec
This win was significant in another way for Bolt. He rushed to the top of all-time World Championships medals with eight gold and two silver, challenging the record of legend Carl Lewis who has eight gold, one silver and one bronze.
The win reminded one of his feat in the London Olympics performance where he claimed the 100m, 200m and 4X100m relay gold medals.
