Patiala earn two points against Bathinda in Punjab inter dist

Patiala, May 29 (UNI) Patiala earned two points by virtue of a a first innings lead against Bathinda in the Punjab Inter-District cricket tournament (Under-19) for Dhruve Pandove Trophy played here today at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium, Overnight 16 for 1 in seven overs, Bathinda were bowled out for a paltry 131 in 59.1 overs in the morning session.

Rajan (37) and Rajkamal Dhillon (21) were the only ones to play the penetrative Patiala bowling attack with some confidence.

The rest wilted like nine pins.

Rajwinder Singh was outstanding, capturing five wickets for 41 runs, while Mohit Mohindra, who batted well yesterday, snapped up three for 20.

In the second innings, which was only of academic interest, Patiala were 126 for 1 at close of play. Sahil Sachdeva and Preetkamal Singh hit unbeaten half centuries in style. Sahil was not out on 52, while Preetkamal was batting on 51.

Patiala's next match is against hosts Jalandhar on May 31.
