Patel qualifies 9th for Macau Grand Prix

Macau, Nov 15 (UNI) Aditya Patel of Team Eurasia Motorsport today qualified ninth for the Formula BMW Pacific season-ending race at the Macau Grand Prix.

The 19-year old from Chennai completed his lap around the 6.120 Kms Guia circuit in 2 min 33.845 sec. He was eighth quickest in free practice, with a time of 2:34.597.

Patel was, howvever, 2.6 seconds off the pace in both his outings at the twisty and challenging street circuit.

The Indian is placed overall ninth in the championship standings with 56 points and is fourth in the rookie class.

The Formula BMW Pacific race, which will be held tomorrow, is being run concurrently with the prestigious Formula 3 race in which champions in various F3 series are invited to participate.
