Paris 2024: Usain Bolt to Noah Lyles - Five Fastest Men in 100m at Olympics
Noah Lyles finished as the fastest in the men's 100m race at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 to clinch gold as all eight men in the final clocked below 10 seconds for the first time in Olympic history.
Although all the eight athletes clocked under 10 seconds in Paris on Sunday (August 4), none of them including Lyles could beat the top two fastest men in 100m event in Olympic history.

Jamaican legend Usain Bolt holds that record, and also stands second in the list for fastest Olympic times. The sprint great first broke the record in Beijing 2008 with 9.69s before breaking his own record four years later with 9.63s in London 2012.
Bolt's compatriot Yohan Blake also came close to matching the record-breaking Jamaican in London 2012 with 9.75s. Till Bolt broke the record, the 9.70 barrier had never been breached. Even in the Paris 2024, none of the sprinters managed to get close to Bolt's record timing.
Lyles pipped Jamaica's Kishane Thompson by milliseconds to clinch gold as his compatriot Fred Kerley clocked at 9.81s beating his own best of 9.84s from three years ago in Tokyo.
Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Lamont Marcell Jacobs, who had match Kerley's timing in the semi-final in Tokyo, clocked 9.85s in Paris to finish fifth. But his timing of 9.80s in Tokyo 2020 final is still among the top 5.
South Africa's Akani Simbine levelled another great Justin Gatlin's speed in Paris Olympics final, but could not enter the top five for the fastest men in 100m at Olympics Here is a look at the top 5 fastest Olympic times:
