Pankaj in quarterfinals at Asian Billiards Championship

New Delhi, May 29 (UNI) World Champion cueist Pankaj Advani has advanced into the quarterfinals of the Asian Billiards Championship at Doha.

Advani, who won all his four matches in Group D, reached the last eight stage even before playing his last of the round robin league match against Myanmar's Aung Htay.

The two will clash to decide the group topper with Htay also keeping his slate clean.

The other Indian in the fray, Rupesh Shah, also won all his group matches comfortably to cruise into the quarterfinal stage. He meets Peter Gilchrist of Singapore in his last league encounter, according to information received here today.
