Pak board to give special emphasis to discipline
Lahore, June 26 (UNI) Given the Pakistan players' penchant for resorting to fist-fights to settle disputes, the PCB has decided to emphasise a lot more on discipline.
''Discipline and physical fitness will be the corner stone of Pakistan Cricket Board policy and the same will be followed in its true letter and spirit in case of sportsman, officials and employees of the board,'' a PCB media release said.
The announcement has come amid reports of a ''physical clash'' between Afridi and Team manager Talat Ali and the relutance of some senior cricketers to accept Salman Butt's ascendancy to vice-captaincy.
During last year's ICC Champions Trophy in India, there were reports that the then Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer was roughed up by paceman Shoaib Akhtar after a spat over playing Bollywood song in the Team's bus.
On Butt's appointment as vice-captain, Mr Ashraf said: ''All senior players fully back Pakistan Cricket Board decision on the appointment of Salman Butt as vice captain and the team is geared up to give its 100 per cent output on its tour to Ireland and England.'' UNI
