Oriya kid to participate in kickboxing in Italy

Sambalpur, Sep 15 (UNI) National Kickboxing Championship winner Master Soyam Satyananda Kar, a child prodigy from Jharsuguda district in western Orissa, is all set to take part in the Federation of Italian Kickboxing at Italy.

A student of Class III in Saint Thomas School, Jharsuguda, Soyam has bagged many certificates and awards in state and national events, including prestigious National Kickboxing Championship award 2008.

He also ranked second in the first East Zone Kickboxing Championship held at Kolkata in 2007 in the under six years group.

A card holder of Indian Association of Kickboxing Organisation Soyam was also selected for participating in kickboxing championship at Portugal but could not join due to some unavoidable circumstances.

His coach Naveen Singh said Soyam had gone through rigorous practice and training this time and hoped that he would bring laurels for the state and the country.
