Orissa school enters Rowing Championship quarter finals
Kolkata, Jun 26 (UNI) Jagatpur high school ''B'' of Orissa defeated South Point ''A'' to top the league table of group ''A'' and enter the quarter-finals of the Junior Girls section of the 35th Servo National Inter-School Rowing Championship at Lake Club course in Rabindra Sarobar here today.
With this victory Jagatpur ''B'' girls won all the four league races to maintain a clean slate and along with them girls from South Point ''A'', Tollygunge high school and St. Michael Academy from Chennai also made to the last eight of the meet from this group.
These teams apart, Jagatpur High School ''A'', South Point ''B'', Loreto House and Ashok Hall have all reached the quarter-finals from group ''B''.
In Junior boys group Vidyamandir from Chennai, South Point ''A'', and Khalsa English confirmed their places in the knock out (pre quarter-finals) stage as they won their races against Hurtley Boys school, Kirkee (Maharastra), and St Sebastian respectively. Queen of the Mission, who have already moved to semifinal in the senior girls group continued with their winning spree and defeated Gokhale Memorial in thie last league race today.
