Organisers replace distorted Indian map with 'Tricolour flag'

New Delhi, June 17 (UNI) The organisers of Champions Challenge Hockey tournament instead of amending a distorted Indian map put on their official website, has replaced it with the country's tricolour national flag.

A day after it came to notice that the Indian map featuring on the tournament website shows Pakisan occupied Kashmir (PoK) as a part of Pakistan, the organisers, in a corrective measure, replaced the map with the country's triclour national flag.

Interestingly, all other five participating nations' map was intact on the website. It was only India whose map had been replaced by its national flag.

The Indian map which was replaced also had some other glaring distortions like proportions of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh were being shown differently than in the original sketches.

Further adding to the woes for the organisers, even the factual mistakes reported yesterday, which shows that India's current world ranking as seven instead of eight, too was not corrected.

Factually Argentina, another participating nation is currently placed at seven and India is placed at eightth.

The other participating nations in the tournament include England (ranked ninth), New Zealand (tenth), Japan (11th) and hosts Belgium (13th).

India lock horns with New Zeland in the lung opener of the event on June 23 in Boom, Belgium.
