Opener Mehrab wants to cement position in ODIs too

Chittagong, May 16 (UNI) Mehrab Hossain has an outside chance of making it to the Test squad, but he is keen to adopt his style to the shorter version of the game.

A potential opener in the longer version of the game, Mehrab said, ''The openers are doing a great job. So I think I will have to wait. But if I get a chance I will perform. I am confident.'' On whether he was rusty after staying out of the team for sometime now, he said, ''I may be out of the national squad, but I am in the game. I have played in the national league.'' Asked to assess the Indian bowling line-up, he said, ''The pacers don't seem to be so menacing, but the spinners are very good. Anil Kumble's addition makes them stronger.'' ''Want to make a good comeback in the Tests now. My game suits the Tests more, but I want to adopt the style of playing in the ODIs too,'' he signed off.
