ONGC becomes third team to qualify for final round
Duler, Mar 17 (UNI) As expected, ONGC, Mumbai today became the third team to qualify for the final round, along with Chirag United and local Vasco Sports Club, of the ONGC Second Division National Football League (NFL) tournament which concluded at Mapusa in North Goa.
ONGC, which needed a draw to qualify against South East Central Railway (SECR), Chhattisgarh, played out a goaless draw and split points in their last match in the Goa leg.
At the end of the 5th round, Chirag United (Kolkata) topped the table with 11 points, followed by Vasco Sports Club 9, ONGC 8, SECR 6, SBT 4 and Punjab Police 3 from five outings each.
Only the first three teams Chirag, Vasco and ONGC have qualified for the final round to be played in Kerala, while SECR, SBT and Punjab Police have bowed out.
