ONGC amateur golf in three categories

Chennai, Jan 10 (UNI) The ONGC Gold Director (HR) Cup will be held at the par-70 Madras Gymkhana Club Golf Annex tomorrow.

The tournament is part of a growing initiative by petroleum giants Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC) to promote golf in this region.

The tournament will be held in three categories, The 'Handicap Category' will witness Gold (0-12 handicap) and Silver (13-24 handicap) competing on a stableford format.

The 'Open Tournament' will be played on a strokeplay format while a 'Team Competition' will also be staged with teams of four picked randomly from the draw. The two best scores out of four would be adding to the team score.

The field will have top corporate decision makers of ONGC from across the country joined by top amateur golfers from the city including ONGC's L Selvadurai, Darshan Veeraraghavan, Tarun Veeraraghavan and C V Yudvir. The field will also include golfers from Corporate-Chennai and members of the Madras Gymkhana Club.
