OJ Simpson 'confessed' to agent about murdering wife

London, May 12 : American footie ace O.J. Simpson's ex-agent has claimed that the star had confessed to killing wife Nicole Brown Simpson to him.

Mike Gilbert, who worked with the 60-year-old legend for 20 years, said that Simpson had admitted murdering his wife a few weeks after he was acquitted in 1995.

Gilbert claims that Simpson told him: "I did go there but I didn't take a knife.

"If Nicole hadn't opened that door with a knife in her hand she'd still be alive."

Gilbert in his book, 'How I Helped OJ Get Away With Murder' said that the veteran football star had confessed after smoking pot, taking a sleeping pill and drinking

"OJ had confessed to me. There's no doubt in my mind," The Sun quoted him as saying.

The 53-year-old agent also said that he helped the star beat the murder rap by telling him not to take his arthritis pills, so his hands would be too swollen to fit the bloody gloves found at the scene.

However, former associate Bruce Fromong claims: "Mike makes up a lot of great stories."

Simpson had stabbed his wife Nicole, 35, and friend Ronald Goldman, 25, at her LA home in 1994. The knife was never found.
