OFA(women) to play 5 exhibition matches in B'desh

Bhubaneswar, Jul 18 (UNI) Orissa women footbal team will play five exhibition matches in Bangladesh next month.

The matches would be played from August 25 to September 5, Orissa Football Association (OFA) women's football wing General Secretary Sahadev Rout here today said.

A team of OFA under the chairmanship of its President Ashirwad Behera has discussed the proposed tour at a meeting in Cuttack on Sunday and decided to give priority to play junior players, in the tournament Mr Rout said.

A detailed discussion on the tour will take place at the council meeting on July 22, he said adding that the selection of the players would be made in a three-day camp at Cuttack beginning from July 27 to 30 The women team was visiting Bangladesh on an invitation from the Bangladesh Football Federation.

As many as 17 players and five officials would find a place in the team.

Debjyoti Mukherjee, a senior member of the Indian Football Association, would conduct the tour, Mr Rout said.

The Bangladesh women football team had played seven exhibition matches in different parts of the state last year.
