'No need to be awed, Indians have 2 legs, 2 arms like us'
Port of Spain, Mar 16 (UNI) Bangladesh coach Dav Whatmore asked his players not to be overawed by the ''superstar'' Indians when his side take on their mighty Sub-continental rivals a Pool B match of the World Cup here tomorrow.
''I hope our guys are not influenced by the superstar status of the Indians,'' Whatmore told media persons here today.
''Once on to the ground, we are equals,'' said Whatmore, who guided Sri Lanka to the ultimate glory in 1996.
''We would be looking to keep our focus despite who the rivals are. After all they he too have two arms and two legs.'' Whatmore said it was alright for his players to admire, deslike or even envy their hugely popular counterparts off the field but on it, it would be disappointing.
He chose to remind the fact that Bangladesh had, in past, pulled off upsets against teams like Australia, India and Pakistan.
''Bangladesh can be described as one of the surprise packets,'' Whatmore said.
The team surprised every one when it stunned New Zealand in a warm-up match recently.
