No easy assignment, will look at things objectively: Robin

Chennai, Apr 7 (UNI) Former India and Tamil Nadu all rounder Robin Singh, who was today named as Team India fielding coach for the tour of Bangladesh, said he would go about his task in an objective and the best way possible.

Describing his new role for the team as a ''new challenge'' and not an easy assignment, he said, ''I am not in a position to say anything now. I am trying to understand the situation'', the former right arm medium pacer and left handed batsman, averred.

Robin, who before this assignment had served as coach for India A team, said he would not go into his new assignment going by the reports in the wake of Team India's debacle in the World Cup.

He said there was no doubt that a lot of attention needs to be given to the all important aspect of fielding. ''It is one of the key areas'', he opined.

He said he wished to look at things objectively before finalising any specific programme. ''I am trying to understand the shortcomings'', he added.
