Nine Universities enter second round

Kottayam, Jan 21 (UNI) North Maharashtra, Karnataka, Mohanlal Sukhadia, H A North Gujarat, Sardar Patel, Bharathidasan, Kuvempu, Osmania and Mysore Universities entered the second round of the All India Inter University South West Zone Women's Volleyball Championship at M G University Sports Pavilion here today.

North Maharashtra outwitted Marathwada Agricultural University in straight sets 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

In a thrilling encounter Karnataka University defeated Thiruvallor University 25-22, 25-23, 25-22.

Mohanlal Sukhadia University beat Mumbai University 25-0, 25-0, 25-0, while H A North Gujarat University outplayed Dr H S Gour University 25-0, 25-0,25-0.

Sardar Patel University earned an easy victory over Rajasthan Agricultural University 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

In today's morning session, Bharathidasan University defeated Veer Narmada South Gujarath University 25-21, 26-24, 26-24.

Kuvempu University defeated Mother Teresa Women's University in straight sets 25-20, 25-18, 25-9, while Osmania University trounced N T Ramarao University 25-15, 25-15, 25-19.

Mysore University defeated Barkathulla University 25-8, 25-10, 25-8.

The league matches of the championship will be held on January 25 and 26.
