New sports policy for promoting sports culture in JK: Minister

Jammu, Apr 1 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports Babu Singh today disclosed the new sports policy is being devised for promoting sports in the state.

After inauguration funfair-cum-exhibition organized by the Rich Harvest Kindergarten and National Academy of Event Management and Development (NAEMD) here the Minister said district youth councils would be established in every district of the state for the purpose.

Mr Singh said there is great potential of sports among the youth and budding probable in the state adding that it needs to be promoted in a big way so that they can compete at state, National as well as international level.

''Sports talented youth would be given due care and justice so that they could bring laurels for the state. Such exhibitions provide an opportunity to the children to express their talent, which if moulded in a proper manner could develop these children as great scientists, doctors and scholars,'' he said.
