New sports policy for promoting budding talents in Bihar

Patna, Aug 21 (UNI) The Bihar government has approved a new sports policy to promote new talents in various games.

Secretary of the cabinet coordination department Girish Shankar told newspersons today the new sports policy, approved at a cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Nitish Kumar is aimed at giving encouragement to the budding talents as well as for the development of infrastructures.

The policy would also look after the financial position of the various sports associations, he added.

Tournaments would be organised from panchayat level to state level to enable the budding sportspersons of the state to prove their worth.

A stadium of international standard would also be established in Patna and stadia equipped with infrastructural facilites would be build in the districts, Mr Shankar added.
