Nepalese wins Hercules Mountain Biking Himachal meet

Manali, Oct 7 (UNI) Uphill struggle and determination paid great dividends to Padam from Nepal (Firefox team) as he won the 4th edition of Hercules Mountain Biking Himachal championship title after beating over 70 challengers in India's only mountain biking race.

Padam took 13 hrs 19 mins 57 secs to scale through the grueling hills and valleys of the Himachal's picturesque mountainside.

The Indian biker Ramesh Chandra Joshi was the runner up in the event while the American John Nobile grabbed the third position.

The race as every year was held against the scenic land of of the state from September 26 to October 6.

Padam received a memento and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh from the chief guest Govind Thakur at the Mountaineering Institute auditorium here.
