Need to encourage rural youth to be good sportsmen: Patel

Ambejogai, Maharashtra, Jan 9 (UNI) Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel today stressed the need to organise national level sports competition in rural areas to encourage the local youth to develop into top quality sportspersons.

''Rural youth should focus on physical training and education.

Only then overall development in the field of sports will be ensured. All areas of the state are being linked through air routes enabling farmers in rural areas to take their products to the national and international markets,'' he said after inaugurating the Akhil Bharatiya Chhatrapati Shivaji Kabbadi Competition here.

Mr Patel also assured that the best sportsperson in the Kabbadi Competition from Beed district will be employed in the aviation sector. He also promised to provide funds of Rs 25 lakh to the proposed sports complex at Ambejogai in Beed district.
