Need to develop sports facilities in rural areas: Narvekar

Panaji, Mar 1 (UNI) There is a need to create additional infrastructure facilities in the rural areas of Goa to help budding sports persons to develop their talent, Health Minister Dayanand Narvekar said today.

Mr Narvekar was speaking at the closing ceremony of XXIXth state level primary and middle schools Sports Festival 2006-07, organised by Directorate of Youth Affairs, at Peddem sports complex, Mapusa in North Goa.

''Our children have inborn talent for sports and culture and it should be developed in a scientific manner,'' he added.
