NCC (NER) blank Air Force Bal Bharti 6-0 in Subroto Cup

New Delhi, Sept 24 (UNI) NCC (North Eastern Railway) blanked local school Air Force Bal Bharti 6-0 to storm into the quarter-finals of the Subroto Cup football tournament here today.

In the Group IV match, Lalhlimpuia (29th, 50th, 54th minutes) struck thrice, while Lalhmangaihzuala (27th, 53rd) scored twice and James (18th) netted one.

In another match, Prabhat HS School, Sarguja, Chattisgarh downed SGBSK Sahu SS School, Nawada, Bihar, 5-0.

Ajit Minj scored four goals for the winners in the 6th, 18th, 21st and 26th minutes while Udya Prakash netted the other goal in the 12th minute.

In other two closely-fought ties, Sagarbanga High School, Durgapur, West Bengal and Guru Govind Singh Khalsa School, Jabalpur, won by an identical 3-2 scoreline.

The Bengal school defeated Hmar Veng High School, Kolasib, Mizoram, 3-2 while the school from Madhya Pradesh beat Sainik School, Imphal.
