Natl Inland Optimist Sailing Championship in Bhopal

Bhopal, Nov 18 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Sailing Association dominated the race on day one of the 5-day National Inland Optimist Sailing Championship that got underway here today.

The Association's Nividita, Nishant, Shweta and Ganpati bagged the first four places respectively while the fifth spot went to Aman Vyas of Bhopal's National Sailing School that is taking part in the Championship for the first time and has fielded a 12-member contingent. A total 6 teams comprising 43 sportspersons are taking part in the event comprising 10 races of 45 minutes duration each.

Four sportspersons would be selected for next month's South-Asian Regatta at Colombo.

The Madhya Pradesh Sports Department set up the School at the local Upper Lake this year.
