National under-11 chess tourney from Oct 23

Kozhikode, Sep 8 (UNI) Around 300 players from across the country are expected to participate in the National Under-11 Boys and Girls Chess Championship, beginning here from October 23.

Competitions will be held separately for boys and girls in the eight-day event organised by the Chess Association of Kerala (CAK) on behalf of the All India Chess Federation (AICF), CAK release said today.

Toppers, one from each category, emerging from the championship would represent India in the Asian Youth Chess Championship and World Youth Chess Championship to be held next year, the release added.
