National Games to be held from Feb 15-28

Ranchi, Nov 30 (UNI) The IOA has reset the dates for the 34th National Games, originally scheduled to be held here from today, to February 15-28.

''The Indian Olympic Association has given its stamp of approval to our request to hold the Games from February 15 to 28,'' Games Organising Secretary S M Hasmi said here today.

The Games were originally supposed to start from today, but the IOC postponed it following the state's request as infrastructure worth Rs 1000 crore would be in place only by January 31 next, he added.

State Olympic associations and federations of various disciplines have been asked to finalise and send their list of players and support staff to the Games organising committee at the earliest.

The events will be held in Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad with a Games Village coming up in the state capital.
