MWG mascot 'Bravo' to arrive here tomorrow
Mumbai, May 25 (UNI) Bravo, the mascot for the fourth edition of the CISM Military World Games, will arrive at Gateway of India on Sunday, Indian Navy spokesperson said here today.
Mumbai will be jointly hosting the mega international sporting event along with Hyderabad from October 14 to October 21.
The mascot will be received at the Gateway of India in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Secretary Johny Joseph. From Gateway, Bravo will ride grand Victoria and proceed to Girgaum Chowpatty to witness 'ops demo'.
The mascot for the games is a stylised great Indian Bison nicknamed Bravo and was released in New Delhi in December last year.
Interestingly, bison is also the symbol of Hyderabad-based infantry division of the Indian Army.
Hosted by India for the first time, MWG is one of the biggest international sporting events held exclusively between serving armed forces personnel across the world. More than 6,000 participants across 100-odd countries are likely to attend the event. The two disciplines of sailing and triathlon, being held in Mumbai, will see the participation of some 500 foreign sportspersons of international repute.
