Mohali get good start in Katoch Shield

Patiala, Sep 7 (UNI) Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Mohali started on a confident note, having scored 88 for 1 in 33 overs against host Patiala on the opening day of the Katoch Shield here at Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium.

The match started at about 1530 hrs due to heavy rain last night which rendered the pitch unplayable in the morning session.

M Sidana and Sumit Ohri played with great confidence and the Patiala bowling attack looked ineffective on a soggy wicket. Sidana was unbeaten on 62, which contained 4 fours and a six, while Ohri was 22 not out at close of play. Veerinder Singh was the only Patiala bowler who got a wicket, giving away 16 runs.

The match is evenly poised since tomorrow is the last day and Patiala will go all out to bowl out Mohali, and then exhilarate the scoring to take first innings lead.
