Modi for promoting chess among children

Ahmedabad, June 28 (UNI) Stressing that chess is a game which teaches patience and perseverance to children, Chief Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his resolve to promote the game in schools.

Mr Modi was addressing the veledictory function of a chess training workshop organised to train 1100 teachers by the State Chess Association last evening.

''Chess is not only a game, but it plays a key role in the personality development of the children,'' Mr Modi stressed.

Chess, he said, is a powerful tool for the psychological development of the children.
