Mizoram, Bihar, Madhya Bharat, MP score wins

Chennai, Jun 20 (UNI) Mizoram came back from behind to notch up their third successive win and brighten their chances of entering the quarterfinals in the St.Joseph's TNHA Junior National Hockey championship here this morning.

Mizoram defeated Hyderabad 4-1 and leads the five-team Group C with six points.

Trailing by a 19th minute goal scored by Hyderabad's Sai, Mizoram restored parity through Lal Talanzoua nine minutes later as both the teams switched ends with honours even.

However, Mizoram struck a purple patch in the second half scoring three goals in ten minutes to end the hopes of Hyderabad. Lal Rinunga scored in the 50th minute to make it 2-1 and Dawangniana swelled the lead in 59th minute before Lal Ringheta completed the tally in the 60th minute.

In another morning match, Bihar defeated Vidarbha 8-3 for its third win in Group A.

After two big wins against Gujarat and Madhya Bharat, Bihar led 3-1 at half time before pumping in five more goals in the second half to complete an easy win.

In a contest between two minnows, Madhya Bharat, after being annihiliated by big margins in their first two matches, scored a face-saving 5-2 win over Gujarat, while Madhya Pradesh edged out Maharashtra through a solitary second half goal for their first win in Group C.
