Meenal Thakur taken the distance in invitational snooker

Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) Meenal Thakur survived a scare before advancing to the quarter-finals of the Rexello Castors-Islam Gymkhana Open Handicap&Invitation Snooker Tournament 2007 at the Islam Gymkhana here today.

Thakur (+50) prevailed over CCI's Kekoo Nicholson (+55) 137-82, 82-102, 112-83 in a close best-of-three frames pre-quarter-final tie.

In another pre-quarter-final, Harish Pahuja (+55) continued his march with an upset 122-75, 120-68 win over Siraj Mehta (+50).
