McGain is down but not out

Melbourne, Oct 4 (UNI) Leg-spinner Bryce McGain, who was sent back home from India due to a shoulder injury, today stated that he will try his best to make a comeback to the national side.

''Through all my career that's what it is all about, playing against the best, duels against the best,'' McGain was quoted as saying in The Herald Sun.

''Unfortunately it is not my time but I believe there is a reason for everything and maybe one day I will find out what it is. I can't think of it at the moment but that will all pan out.

''I will go home, rest up, rehab and reload again and be ready to go. I am reasonably confident and far from internally feeling like I am done and put the fork in me yet,'' he said.

The national selectors had selected the 36-year-old McGain as their frontline spinner in the absense of Shane Warne and Stuart Macgill.

McGain, who was also a part of Australia A team, had hurt himself during their tour matches last month.

However, due to the previous experience of playing in Indian condition, all-rounder Cameron White has been selected as leg-spinner McGain replacement.
