Mauresmo beats Clijsters to claim one million euro bonus
ANTWERP, Belgium, Feb 18 (Reuters) Top seed Amelie Mauresmo defeated Belgium's Kim Clijsters 6-4 7-6 in the Diamond Games final today.
A hat-trick of Antwerp titles for the French world number three meant she became the first player to win the event's diamond-studded racket estimated to be worth one million euros (1.31 million dollars).
Mauresmo also beat the Belgian in last year's final.
Sunday's match was Clijsters's last competitive appearance on home soil as she plans to quit at the end of the season.
