Mascot for the CISM Military Games arrives in Mumbai
Mumbai, May 27 (UNI) Thousands of Mumbaikars assembled at the majestic Gateway of India to receive 'Bravo', the mascot for the fourth edition of the CISM Military World Games (MWG), which arrived here today from one of the military stations in the country.
Mumbai has been selected as the venue along with Hyderabad to conduct the MWG to be held from October 14-21. Two - sailing and trithlon- out of 15 disciplines will be held in the metropolis.
The mascot was received by the Naval authorities and young children from the Sea Cadet corps at the Gateway amidst the presence of a large number of tourists and locals , who made a beeline to welcome 'Bravo'.
A spectacular gymnastic show and colourful cultural programme depicting the rich culture of Maharshtra in the forms of various dances was presented at the Gateway lawns.
From Gateway the mascot was taken to Girgaum Chowpatty in the Victoria, with Naval escorts to witness a phenomenal operational demonstration by the Indian Navy, with Commander Garud as the leader of three Kiran formations.
At Girgaum Chowpatty, a great aerobatics show was conducted by Sagar Pawan team of the Indian Navy. The spectators were in total awe after seeing the skillful demonstrations by the Marine commandos. Three Chetak helicopetrs accompanied Bravo throughout its journey from Marine Drive to Girgaum Chowpatty, demonstrating their flying skills.
