Marine Lines to hold WMG sailing and triathlon events

Mumbai, Oct 5 (UNI) The Indian Armed Forces hosting the fourth World Military Games (WMG) in Hyderabad from October 14-21, will conduct the sailing and triathlon events in Mumbai.

The Games will see soldiers from nearly hundred countries participating in 15 events, out of which two events sailing and triathlon will be held at Marine Lines from October 16-19 and October 21 respectively.

Defence spokesperson Major Abhay Lambate said, ''Over 450 military officers plus participants from 37 countries are expected to visit Mumbai for the two events.'' On October 7, a test run to check the arrangements will be carried out during which vehicular traffic along Marine Lines (Seawood Road) and Girgaum Chowpatty will be restricted, Lambate added.

Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) S S Solunkhe said, ''Certain traffic restrictions will be enforced to ensure the smooth conduct of the games to allow the athletes to practice, to ensure the safety of participants and spectators, and their security at the same time.'' UNI
