Manisha, Dharmendra win discus and javelin gold

Vijayawada, Nov 27 (UNI) T Manisha of Tamil Nadu and Dharmendra Kumar of Uttar Pradesh won gold in the girls U-16 discus and boys U-16 javelin respectively with the best throws of 36 m and 60.29 m in the Reliance 23rd Junior National Athletics Championships here today.

A Sindhuja of Tamil Nadu and Smita Das of West Bengal bagged silver and bronze, respectively with distances of 34.78 m and 33.17 m.

In the boys javelin throw, Ashutosh Kumar of Bihar won the silver by hurling the spear to a distance of 57.67 m and K Deven Singh of Manipur the bronze with a throw of 55.10 m.

In the girls U-20 5000 m run, K H Rasheswori of Manipur clinched the gold clocking 19:09.79, while Betty Joseph of Kerala got the silver clocking 19:11.05. O A Soumya of Kerala took the bronze with a time of 19:40.85.

In the girls U-18 5000 m walk, P Renuka of Kerala won the gold by clocking 26:53.81 while the silver went to Mamta of Haryana with 27:47.76. S Varalakshmi of Andhra Pradesh got the bronze clocking 29:01.39.

In the boys U-20 10000 m run, Anand Kujur of Jharkhand got the gold clocking 32:45.93 while Ravindra Singh of Gujarat and Devender Singh of Haryana got the silver and bronze, respectivly by clocking 32:52.38 and 32.57.28.
