Maninder gets bail in coke case
New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) Former Test cricketer Maninder Singh who was arrested last night for possessing cocaine, was today granted bail by a city court as the quantity of the drug recovered from him was very small.
He was given bail by Additional Sessions Judge S C Malik on a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and a surety of like amount.
The other person Sayam Siddiqui who was also arrested with him was, however remanded into two days' police custody.
Maninder was caught in Defence enclave area in East Delhi's Preet Vihar last evening, while Siddiqui was delivering him the drugs.
Police recovered 1.5 gm of cocaine from his possession while the 10 gms of the drug was recovered from the conduit.
Possession of more than three gm cocaine comes under the Commercial Transaction Act while those found possessing less than three gm are booked under Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) act.
