Major tourneys from May 26

Tirupati, May 13 (UNI) All India Major Ranking Prize Money Tournaments (AIMRT) for Junior and Seniors, which was sanctioned by the Badminton Association of India (BAI) for 2007-2008, will be held in India from May 26, 2007 to January 18, 2008.

The first tournament for junior boys and girls will be held from May 26 to 31 at Chennai followed by Cochin (from June 1-6), Bangalore (October 2-6), Gujarat (November 12-16) and Bihar (November 18 to 22), APBA Secretary K C H Punnaiah Chowdary said in a release here today.

The senior major ranking tournament for men and women will be held at Bangalore from December 12-16 followed by Gujarat (Dec 18-22), Delhi (Feb 2-6, 2008), Mumbai (Jan 8-12) and Assam (January 14-18, 2008).

However the prestigious Senior National Badminton Championships will be held at Panjim inGoa from February 10-18 next year while the sub-junior nationals for boys and girls under-13 and under-16 will be held at Dehra Dun from October 10-18 this year, he added.
