Maintain the sanctity of Olympic Torch: UPOA

Lucknow, Apr 10 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Olympic Assocition (UPOA) today expressed its resentment over the opposition of the Olympic Torch being taken out from different countries en route to Beijing, where the next Olympic games would be held.

UPOA general secretary Anandeshwar Pandey here said ''the Olympic torch, binding all the five continents into one, should not be politicised.'' All the sports communities of the world, irrespective of caste and creed bowed in front of the Olympic flag, so it would be honoured in every manner, he added.

He appealed to the heads of all the nations, politicians of the world, intellectuals, social workers as well as players and sports lovers to maintain its sanctity and allow to pass it without any hinderance.
