Maharashtra State Open squash tourney from September 23

Mumbai, Sept 10 (UNI) The 32nd Bombay Gymkhana Maharashtra State Open Squash Championship 2007 will be held from September 23 to 28 at the Gymkhana courts here.

The feature of this year's edition, co-sponsored by Sapat and HSBC, is that the winner's purse has been doubled to Rs 1 lakh in the Men's Open and Rs 30,000 in the Women's category, a release issued here today stated.

The other categories include, Boys and Girls Under-19, U-17, U-15, U-13, U-11, U-9, Professionals, Over-35, Over-45 and Over-55.

All matches will be played over best-of-five games on a 9-point scoring system.

The tournament is being held under the aegis of the Squash Rackets Federation of India, and auspices of the Squash Rackets Association of Maharashtra, the release added.
