Maharashtra bags Overall Championship
Bangalore, Feb 25 (UNI) Maharashtra bagged the Overall Championship in the 13th edition of Federation Cup Cross Country Championship held in Ramnagar, 65 km from here, today.
A record number of 220 runners participated in the event which was run as the national trials for selecting the athletes to represent the country in the 35th IAAF World Cross Country Championships to be held in Mombasa (Kenya) next month.
Results: Men: 12 KM: Surender Singh (Army) I, Santosh Kumar (UP) II, Sunil Kumar (Jhar) III. T: 36:01.04 secs Two Km : Sandeep (Army) I, C Hamsa (Army) II, Amar Singh (Army) III.
T: 1:15.03 secs.
Boys: 8 Km : Sandip (MP) I, Ravinder (Del) II, Mohamed Yunus (Jhar) III.
T: 26:11.2 secs Women: Eight Km: S Preeja (Ker) I, Preethi Rao (Jhar) II, Kamalesh Baghel (UP) III. T: 29:27.9 secs.
Four Km: Sushma (Delhi) I, Swathi (Mah) II, D Ashwini (Mah) III.
T: 14:33.0 secs.
Girls: Six Km: Rohin Raut (Mah) I, Monika Raut (Mah) II, Soloni Choudhary (UP) III. T:23:01.00 secs.
