Mah govt extends financial assistance to young swimmer Khade

Kolhapur, Apr 2 (UNI) Maharashtra Marketing Minister Harshwardhan Patil today said the state government will provide financial assistance to young swimmer Veerdhaval Khade.

Talking to reporters at Wadi-Ratnagiri in the district, Mr Patil, who is Kolhapur district Guardian Minister, said swimmer Khade, hailing from the city, qualified for the Beijing Olympics in 200 m freestyle event held recently at Melbourne, which is great honour to the state.

Taking into consideration his success, the state government will initiate necessary steps to provide help to the swimmer, Mr Patil added.
