Madonna-struck A-Rod 'still loves ex-wife'

New York, Nov 16 : He might be seeing Madonna, but Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez is not ready to let go of his ex-wife, Cynthia, according to reports.

Rodriguez, who divorced Cynthia in September, cites his relationship with the Material Girl as a girl.

"A-Rod still loves Cynthia,'' New York Post quoted a baseball insider, as saying.

The insider said that the slugger has been telling his ex that this is just a phase he is going through, and asking her to hang on and wait for him.

"He has always wanted to be a superstar and he is in awe of Madonna, but Cynthia is his true love and best friend. He has been asking her to just let him get through this obsession,'' the source added.

Accepting the situation is particularly tough for Cynthia, because the newly separated Madonna objects to A-Rod spending time with his ex.
