Lee praises 'Pigeon' for his World record achievement

New Delhi, Apr 9 (UNI) Australian speedster Breet Lee today lauded his bowling colleague Glenn McGrath for becoming the highest wicket-taker in the World Cup history, surpassing Pakistan's Wasim Akram's record.

''Glenn is a wonderful bowler. He deserves to be the highest wicket-taker but one of the most saddest thing is that he is quiting after the World Cup,'' said Lee.

The Aussie, who missed the Caribbean mega event due to an ankle injury, expressed his dissappointment of not bowling with the 'Pigeon' in the ongoing World Cup.

''It is really unfortunate for me not to bowl with him (McGrath) in his last World Cup campaign,'' Lee said of 37-year-old McGrath who would be drawing an end to his 14-year-old cricketing career just after the mega event.

Lee also expressed his dissappointment of being away from the field for such a long time. He, however, was hopeful of wearing the bowling boots within a couple of months.

''My injury is going on well. I will have a minor operation next week and hope to start playing within a couple of months,'' he said.

When asked about the team who poses a potential threat to Australia in retaining their World Cup crown, the 30-year-old Aussie said, ''The Aussies are playing really good cricket and if they continue the same way, I hope we will win the cup for the third consecutive time. But the Kiwis and Sri Lankans will definitely pose a threat to them.'' Interestingly, after making a fascinating debut in the music world where he shared limelight with melody queen Asha Bhonsle, Lee is now eyeing to make a debut in Bollywood.

''I love music. I have been associated with music for long and presently I am working on three or more tracks. But if given a chance, definitely I would love to star in a movie,'' he said, adding, ''I am waiting for the right script and right time.'' UNI
