Lahiri's sway continues in LG Southern Amateur Open
Bangalore , June 20 (UNI) Top amateur Anirban Lahiri continued to lead the field after shooting a level-par 70 in the second round in the LG Southern India Amateur Golf Championship, being played at the Bangalore Golf Club, here today.
Anirban sits atop the leaderboard with a two-day tally of six-under 134.
Jaipur's Amanjyot Singh inched closer with a one-under 69 to share the second place with Bangalore's Abhishek Jha at 137. Jha shot a one-over 71 today.
Three time Sri Lankan amateur champion Simarjeet Singh fired a level-par 70 to occupy fourth place at 139.
Meanwhile, Chandigarh's HS Kang brought in the day's best card of 68 to improve to fifth place at 140 with Manav Das a further two stroke behind in sixth place at 142. Das shot a one-over 71 today.
Mithun Perera, Jasjeet Singh and Saurabh Bahuguna were in tied seventh place at 143.
Lahiri had a bit of an up and down day. He birdied the second and eighth, but bogeyed the fifth to turn at one under. On the back nine, Lahiri dropped three shots in-a-row on the 10th, 11th and 12th but recovered to fire birdies on the 13th and 17th.
